Burley Creek Arabians was started in 1984. Floyd Thompson started with a couple of mares, breeding to a couple of choice stallions like Shaboud and Twazi, with good results. After proving he had a good eye for a good Arabian, Floyd went about looking to acquire a nice stallion to show and bring some new blood to the herd. Floyd was very happy when he found "Coal Fire" bred by Jadamac Arabians.
Daughter, Jessica Cole has Going to Region V show in 2005, Jessica witnessed a Stallion Halter class, which happened to be won by an *Emanor son. The memory of the stunning horse and the excitement of the class made it hard to fall asleep. Returning to another show the next day, still thrilled about the stallions, someone overheard Jessica talking about *Emanor. They approached me with news of a stallion, an *Emanor son, for sale in the area. Doing some more research for two days and waiting for a call back, they finally were in the car on the way to meet this 4 year old Stallion. When Jessica spotted Alimanor, she says, "I started quivering inside hoping the lady wouldn't change her mind. Linda let me handle him, and I led him to the arena. He arched his neck and started to trot. He had this regal look, as if he were trying to impress me. Right from the beginning we had a unique bond. After making a offer, the anticipation was excruciating. Finally Linda called back and said, "Are you ready to be the next owner of WH Alimanor". I felt like we won the lottery. Alimanor has been a dream to own. We sent him to Tim Wigren, where he had a great start under saddle, and was shown successfully. Every time I went to see him, he was maturing so nicely. After some time with Tim, we brought him home and had I a great time riding and showing him myself, he was everything an amateur rider would want in a horse; kind, gentle, correct and he can trot too!" Jessica further goes on to say, "Shortly after bringing Alimanor home, I was blessed with the good news of a baby girl on the way, In preparation of having a baby myself, I had to start thinking of a trainer for Alimanor again. This is when we found Mike Lamb. He was close to us, was a noted trainer and it was perfect. Alimanor then went on the show circuit with Lamb Show horses, where they did a fabulous job of showing him when I couldn't."
Alimanor is again home with us for breeding. I want to thank my dad Floyd for the finances on Alimanor. We both enjoy him so much. Thank you Linda for recognizing that desperate look in my eye knowing that I needed Alimanor in my life . Thank you Tim for the superb foundation training on Alimanor that made him have such a great work ethic. Thank you Mike and Niki for your great efforts on our behalf. I had great time watching him show, and your hospitality at the shows was excellent. Your crew is awesome and really fun! We are so very pleased to
present our Arabian horses to you. Please feel free to contact us
with any of your questions or inquiries. |
